Ebro Delta

The Ebro Delta is one of the most important wetlands in the Mediterranean. Rice fields cover extensive parts of it, providing habitat for many bird species at different times of the year. Large coastal lagoons, salt pans, reedbeds, sandy beaches and shallow bays are common as well. It is protected as a Natural Park and a also Ramsar Convention Site.

Slender-billed Gull, Audouin’s gull, Greater Flamingo, different species of Terns, Lesser short-toed Lark, Western Swamphen, Moustached Warbler, waders –including frequent rarities–, waterfowl, Purple Heron, Little Bittern, Squaco Heron, Bluethroat… and many more. Ebro Delta is a bird paradise!

2 days minimum. Extend it or combine it with a visit to nearby Ports & Terra Alta or to Lleida Plains and Pyrenees.

Can be visited all year.
