Llobregat Delta

Llobregat Delta is a relatively small yet very well managed and protected wetland. It is particularly interesting because of its location, just next to Barcelona city and the airport, making a visit to this area very convenient for people staying in Barcelona and who do not have enough time to travel longer distances. With extensive marshes and easy access hides, reedbeds, sandy beaches with coastal lagoons, the river mouth, and some woodlands and agricultural land, there is no shortage in habitat diversity, and the number of species recorded in the Delta is very high, with frequent rarities. Furthermore, a one-day visit can also include nearby Garraf Massif, with a different range of habitats and species.

Penduline Tit, Moustached Warbler, Audouin’s Gull, Greater Flamingo, Purple Swamphen, Bittern, Little Bittern, Purple Heron, Squaco Heron, Common Waxbill, Great Spotted Cuckoo, migrating waders and passerines.

1 day, combining Llobregat Delta with nearby Garraf Massif, for a more varied habitat exploration.

All year. Specially interesting during migration periods.
