Video: Pin-tailed Sandgrouse tagging with GPS transmitter

While collaborating with the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia Consortium (www.ctfc.cat/en/) which –among many other things–, studies and monitors endangered steppe-land birds and their habitat, I had the chance to film and edit this short video that explains how Pin-tailed Sandgrouse are captured, handled and GPS-tagged at night, with the help of a thermal camera. This is a sensitive operation that requires a lot of expertise and precision, but the tagged birds provide essential data that help us understand their ecological requirements and find a way to protect them.
