Daniel Roca

Passionate about birds since a little boy, Daniel is both a field ornithologist, a ringer, and a specialist in communication and video production. He has been involved in numerous bird studies and educational programs.
From the Pyrenees to the inland steppes and the coastal marshes, Daniel has been birding in Catalonia for more than 25 years. As a tour operator and professional guide, he is always happy to show the Catalan wildlife and nature to visitors.

Why Birding?

Birding is a form of wildlife observation, a recreation activity if you will, different from ornithology, which is the scientific study of birds. But birding is also much more than just a hobby. Through birding, we contribute to increase collective consciousness for the need to preserve nature. Through birding, we get immersed in the world around us, its sounds, its colors, its diversity of life forms and landscapes. Its incredible beauty. In a hyperconnected world, birding and wildlife discovery is the ultimate connection. The connection with Nature.

"WE NEED THE TONIC OF WILDERNESS,
WE CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH OF NATURE."
Henry David Thoreau
